6 Miles Multi Terrain. 750ft Elevation.

Canicross start: 11am.  Runners start: 11.15am

Sunday 17th March 2024

The Howling Bull Run is a 6 mile, mainly off-road running event, first run in November 2015. Starting at Walford Village Hall, it climbs up Bulls Hill along the beautiful Wye Valley Walk, then loops around the woodland footpaths on Leys Hill and Howle Hill.

New route for 2024! To mix things up a bit, the route will change for 2024. The new course will basically be a reverse of the old route, with a few new bits added for good measure. Hope you enjoy it - Even those who don't like change!

There is even a small section of tarmac for the road runners..

Friendly Canicross runners and naughty dogs very welcome. Please note runners are covered under our race public liability insurance, but dogs are not. If you want to run with your dog, please make sure they also have adequate insurance in case of any mishaps. You are responsible for your dog's and their actions!

Lots of prizes to be awarded and hand crafted wooden medals awarded to all.

Min age 15.   It will be hilly and muddy - Please wear trail shoes / grippy daps!

TRANSFERS. Please let me have name, DOB and club (if any) of new runner if you want to transfer. Email info to: howlingbullrun@gmail.com . I would prefer if you could email a few days before event, but will do on the day transfers if necessary. I do not want any runners to run under a different name - it breaks the insurance criteria and not good if any accidents occur! Thanks

Change of plan? If you have entered but can't make it (injury, unforeseen circumstances, or just thought it sounded like a good idea at the time), I am happy to transfer your entry to next year or to another runner. I can refund (minus small entry processing fee), but would prefer not to, as it is quite frankly a bit of a faff for me to do (I don't have a 'team' - it's just me!) and it is a charity race, so all profits go to good causes.
